TripleTriadCardGame
The rules of the card game in FFVIII are quite easy. 2 players take turns (randomly) placing cards on a 3 x 3 grid. When two cards are placed next to each other, you compare the values of the card on the upper left corner. For example, if card 1 was to the left of card 2, then you would compare the number on the right for card 1, and the number on the left for card 2. If card 1 got a number on the right that is larger then the number of card 2 in the left then card 1 will flip card 2 to his color. It is blue with player and red for computer and if it is opposite. Like the number of card 1 on the right is smaller than the left side number on card 2. It will have no effect and the play continues on after you and the computer had place all 9 card on the grid. You can only take control of one card per turn. The side that goes first will put 5 cards on and the other side will put 4 cards on. It depends on which sides go first. After you win normally you can take 1 card from the loser side but sometime you can take up to 4 cards. If the text below the card name is blue that's mean you don't have that card so it would be good to take the card that you don't have with the highest value. Cards would becomes useful after you have your guardian force get a command called Card Change. What it does is change cards to valuable items. You don't need to change your card to the items you want actually. If you don't that item is from some enemies that you had defeated already. You can equip with steal command and fight them so without trading your cards for item. You get the item for stealing. (For me because I want to keep all the cards, some cards are only appear once in the game. Like the player cards. Example: Squall's card, Laguna's Card or Edea's card.) Here is a picture of a card you can see the value on it's upper left corner. Also you can change a enemy to a card if you have a command from guardian force called card transform but it is hard to change the enemy to a card if the monster got higher level than you and he got full health. A easy way to change them into cards is cutting his health low so you got a better chance to do that. You can pick up cards from normal battle but not often. When you get a new guardian force sometime it is with it's own card as a present to you. You can only play cards in city area with you press the square button at them instead of the talk button circle. This mini game will takes you quite a time in the game to play it.
